AUGUST WORKSHOP!

EAT Umea | EAT The World Series Part X

Please note that this recipe can be made for both vegetarians AND vegans! EAT Umeå’s ‘EAT THE WORLD’ series brings to Umeå a Latvian Sklandrausis Workshop. The workshop is conducted by an amazing Latvian lady with the greenest thumb and the most beautiful instagram account in the city of Umeå! (check out hortus.borealis on insta) Sklandrausis is a traditional Latvian pie and the first from the country to find itself in the list of foods granted the “Traditional Speciality Guaranteed” status by the European Commission, listing it along other European specialities like Champagne, Gorgonzola and Camembert. Deceptively simple looking, this pie presents to you the humble potato and the sweet carrot in the most surprising combination of flavours! With Autumn around the corner, this pie is going to make you want to wish for it to come sooner! Ingredients will be provided for the registered participants of the course. The cost is included in the course fee. We advise you to eat breakfast before coming, but leave room to enjoy the handiwork of the day! After the hard work, we shall feast together to celebrate the art of effortlessly prepared, ridiculously delicious food!!
